What to expect

When you first get in touch, we will a brief conversation on the phone or via email about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work. I will be able to give you an indication if I am able to support you in this, or if other form of help might be more beneficial. In order to get a better sense if we are a good match for therapy, I will invite you for an initial meeting.

Initial Meeting

During this meeting we will have a chance to explore further your reasons for seeking help. We will work collaboratively towards clarifying your goals and hopes from therapy, and we will discuss the best approach and direction for you to get there. You will be able to ask questions and share any concerns regarding starting therapy. Most importantly during this meeting you will experience what therapy is like with me and if you like the way I work, and we will both decide if we are a good fit.

Ongoing sessions

If we decide to start therapy, I will send you a form that gathers some information about your contact details, brief family history, current medication, etc. All information is confidential as I discuss below. Sessions are usually on weekly basis. The regularity and consistency help with keeping the momentum of your processing going and provide an ongoing support for when things get harder. You may feel like leaving therapy as soon as you notice positive changes or when you hit a hard spot. This is normal and I recommend that you speak to me about whatever comes up for your in the process.
